The Croatian was a popular figure at the Emirates Stadium, with his horrific broken leg often cited as the moment when their 2007-08 Premier League title bid went off the rails.

Ex-Gunners forward Eduardo da Silva, who played for the club between 2007 and 2010, has become a free agent after his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk expired.

Eduardo was a popular figure in north London and had already scored 12 goals by February of the 2007-08 campaign before he suffered a gruesome broken leg against Birmingham City - an incident and match that was seen as a major turning point in Arsenal's failed bid for the Premier League title.
