Manchester United take City youngsters on trial


The club have embarked on a major recruitment drive in recent months, signing a number of youth talents, and could now be set to pinch two from their bitter rivals.

Manchester United could be set to poach two of Manchester City’s youngsters as they bid to bolster their squad, it has been revealed.


According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, the club’s Under-17 squad named City teenagers Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu and Ellis Simms on the bench against Everton after the duo were handed trials.

The pair both came off the bench in the 3-1 victory, with Elewa-Ikpakwu playing at centre-back and Simms on the left wing.
