The Manchester United manager insists his defender is
'a clean player', but former England international Danny Mills feels
all performers at the top level have a nasty streak.
The Argentina international has faced criticism of late after flying into two-footed challenges, first on Everton's Idrissa Gueye, and then on Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha.
He has avoided red cards, but the 26-year-old has won few admirers for his potentially dangerous tackles.
Mourinho was quick to defend Rojo after United’s 2-1 victory at Palace on Wednesday, in which the South American chopped down Zaha on the edge of the United area.
He said: “He is an aggressive, clean player playing probably the best football of his career."
