The Germany international has insisted he is very
happy with life at the Emirates Stadium and hit back at an accusation
made by Gunners legend Thierry Henry.
As Goal reported in October, Ozil is happy at Arsenal but wants his manager’s future to be resolved before committing his own to the Gunners, with Wenger's contract due to expire in six months' time.
The playmaker's current deal expires in the summer of 2018 and, like Alexis Sanchez, he has yet to agree terms to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium, but has told the club he is willing to remain in north London.
"I am very, very happy at Arsenal and have let the club know that I would be ready to sign a new contract," Ozil told Kicker. "The fans want me to stay and now it is just down to the club."
He added: "The club knows that I am here most of all because of Arsene Wenger. He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have.
