Dr. Phil Inspired Kidnapping, Man Claims

A Wisconsin man has levied perhaps the most shocking allegationagainst charlatan shrink Dr. Phil yet! According to Ronald Schueller, he got the idea to have his estranged wife kidnapped and locked in the trunk of her car from a Dr. Philepisode.dr-phil-inspires-kidnapper-claims
In 2005, Ronald said he thought his wife Virginia, who filed for divorce in 2004, needed a scare “so she would see the error of her ways,” according to his attorney, Gerald Boyle.
The crazy scheme was set into motion when Schueller, 58, told his plan to a bartender, who put him in touch with an undercover sheriff’s deputy. The desperate husband met the deputy in May last year and told him, “I’ve got a lot of trouble with the wife.”
Schueller offered to pay $1,000 in two installments, and even suggested that the “kidnapper” should steal his wife’s credit cards, cash and driver’s license to make it look like a robbery. He also wanted the deputy to drive the car to a deserted area, smash the windows and abandon the vehicle.
The undercover officer asked if Schueller wanted his wife harmed in any way, and he replied, “Don’t hurt her, maybe just bruise her a little.”
According to testimony, the Fredonia mantold the deputy that he got the idea for the sick crime after seeing Dr. PhilMcGraw advising that people sometimes needed a “good scare” to jolt them out of their delusions. (A Dr. Phil show spokesman insisted, however, that McGraw has never made such a statement on any of the episodes.)
“This is clearly an emotionally unstable individual, and we certainly hope he gets the professional help he needs,” said the rep.
Schueller, who had been separated from his 57-year-old wife since 2002 after 34 years of marriage, was sentenced to six months in jail and mental health counseling.
He also got three years of probation and was ordered to have no contact with his wife and stay at least 250 yards from her home.
