'A bigger chance at Swansea than Bayern’ – Clement

The 44-year-old is acutely aware that he has turned his back on the chance of winning the Champions League this season - but he thinks the gamble is well worth it.

New Swansea boss Paul Clement says that the opportunity the Premier League outfit have given him is greater than the one he had at Bayern Munich.

Clement had been a long-time partner of Carlo Ancelotti,  head coach of the Bundesliga champions, and had been the Italian’s right-hand man at the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, not to mention the Allianz Arena side. However, he felt the time had come to strike out on his own again - having previously taken in a short spell at Derby County.

“It’s a bigger chance for me because I’ll take responsibility,” the 44-year-old told the press. “I could have stayed with Bayern and had the chance to win the Champions League, but this is a good challenge.
