Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw forced off with injury in Man Utd clash with Swansea

Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw forced off with injury in Man Utd clash with Swansea

The England international lasted less than 10 minutes on the field in Sunday's encounter before the Ivorian centre-back pulled up in the second half.

After seeing Luke Shaw substituted less than 10 minutes into the game against Swansea on Sunday, Manchester United were dealt a further blow when Eric Bailly was forced off too.

The left-back was replaced by Antonio Valencia after he went down holding his leg early on in the Premier League encounter at Old Trafford, though there appeared to be no contact from a Swansea player.

Within 15 minutes of the second period, Bailly followed on. Initially injuring himself in a tackle on Fernando Llorente, the Ivory Coast international tried to carry on but only lasted a few seconds when he pulled up as he chased Llorente down again.

Jose Mourinho was missing six players through injury before the game, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba as well as defenders Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah all out, while Marouane Fellaini was absent through suspension.

And Shaw and Bailly are the latest additions to the list, having already suffered periods on the sidelines this season.

Shaw, 23, was making just his fourth appearance in the league since November, and has previously been kept out through issues with ligament tears, hamstring problems, a broken leg and groin strains during his time at United.
