Arsenal watch Hubert again

RUMOURS: Arsenal watch Hubert again

The 22-year-old Belgian goalkeeper will be available on a free transfer in the summer, with Arsene Wenger looking to sign him as a potential successor to Petr Cech.

Arsenal are preparing a summer move for Standard Liege goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert, whose contract expires at the end of the season, according to Belgian publication HLN.BE.

The Gunners sent scouts to his side's recent meeting with Genk - the sixth time the north London outfit have been in attendance to watch him perform this season.

Arsene Wenger is supposedly keen to strengthen his goalkeeping options at the Emirates and will test the water regarding a potential move once the January transfer window opens, though it is thought a summer move is more viable.

Hubert, who has kept 13 clean sheets in his 33 appearances for Standard Liege to date, has starred for the Belgium national side at youth level and is on the verge of breaking through to the senior set-up.
