Enugu Rangers resume training after yuletide break

All the Flying Antelopes’ players and officials witnessed the evening practice session after the team returned to work from break.

All Enugu Rangers’ players took part in the Thursday evening practice session held by the Flying Antelopes at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium barely a day after the club cut short their yuletide holiday to resume their final phase of preparations ahead of the 2016/17 NPFL season and their campaign in the CAF Champions League.

Close to full house of the Enugu side players were at the morning session in their first official training after the break but all witnessed the evening session that was supervised by head coach, Imama Amapakabo and his assistants were the team laid emphasis on building up the fitness of the players after close to two weeks of break occasioned by the Christmas celebration.

 The Rangers’ Director of Media and Publicity, Foster Chime disclosed that the Flying Antelopes’ players and officials are preparing seriously for the successful defense of the league title won last season and also for the team to do very well in the CAF Champions League and that the management of the club is doing everything to ensure that Rangers do not have it too difficult in the coming season.

“We have resumed training ahead of the new season. We trained twice on Thursday and had full house during the evening training,” Chime told Goal. The coaches concentrated on light training sessions on the first day to build up players’ fitness level and this will continue on Friday also.”

Rangers won the league title last season after a 4-0 drubbing of El Kanemi Warriors on the final day of the season and are expected to face Abia Warriors in their opening fixture of the coming season on January 15 in Enugu.
